A downloadable mod

The problem with Nuclear Throne that I'm sure we've all encountered is that it's just too fun! Well now you can finally get a mod and proudly say: my Nuclear Throne is less enjoyable then your Nuclear Throne. It's called Hearthstone since every effect the mod has is entirely reliant on RNG. So, what does it do?

  • Crits
    • Every projectile (including those of enemies) has a 1/10 chance to be a crit, dealing double damage and travelling faster. Enemies also have a 1/20 chance to get an anti-crit, which deals half damage, as to balance with misfire.
  • Misfire
    • You have a 1/10 chance of getting double accuracy for a shot, but a 1/20 chance of getting half accuracy for a shot. This only applies to weapons that cost ammo.
  • Fumble
    • You have a 1/400 chance to drop your gun when you fire it, fuck you. This also only applies to weapons that cost ammo, and also the chance is multiplied by the cost of your weapon.
  • Infection
    • Getting hit by any kind of rat or a freak has a 20% chance of infecting you, dealing a total of 3 damage over time. The infection can be cured by taking a health pack. Oh, you can also infect your friends by running into them while infected.
  • Absolute Chaos
    • Whenever an enemy drops a weapon, it has a 1/15 chance of going off. The weapon's projectiles are neutral and can crit, so it is possible for something to drop an SPC and fire a crit SPC shot right into your face.
  • Tripping
    • Just like in Brawl, there's a 1/100 chance of tripping when moving from a standstill and a 1/80 chance to trip when you try to move in the opposite direction you're currently moving in. When you trip you cannot move and cannot shoot either of your guns for 20 frames.
    • Oh, also you trip twice as often whenever a boss exists.
  • Dog Time
    • Ever seen a dog guardian and thought, "wow, this enemy is easy"? Well, think no longer, because there's now a 1/5 chance that when a dog guardian lunges at you it will deal 20 contact damage instead of the normal 6.
  • Rad Guardians
    • Those pesky guardians! Palace guardians have a 1/20 chance (multiplied by rads dropped / 10) to spawn from any enemy that drops 10+ rads. The guardians will contain all of the rads the enemy would have dropped.
  • Elites
    • Elite enemies have a 1/30 chance of spawning in place of normal ones, and they have 50% more health and 50% more rads dropped, are more aggressive, and also they have a crit chance of 67% while being unable to anti-crit. They are indicated by an orange tint. (These are buffed variants of normal enemies, not elite IDPD)
  • IQ
    • I went through the trouble of calculating the standard deviation of the scores for every daily done in the month of May, and so now when your run ends an IQ score will be calculated and displayed based on that information compared to the score of your own run.
  • Gnome
    • The garden gnome from Terraria will sometimes spawn in a level. This friend who can only be damaged by you will halve the chance of fumbling your weapon, getting infected, and tripping, while doubling your crit chance while you're in its vicinity. Don't get too close, however, because it will explode on death.
